- Managing Fire Safely - The moral, legal and economic arguments for effective standards of fire safety; A framework for fire safety management; Emergency evacuation procedures; Investigating fires
- Principles of Fire and Explosion - The fire triangle; Combustion and ignition; Classification of fires; Fire growth and spread; Explosion
- Causes and Prevention of Fires - Common sources of ignition; Arson; Fire prevention strategies
- Fire Protection in Buildings - Construction and design; Means of escape; Fire detection and alarm; Fire fighting
- Fire Risk Assessment - Hazard and risk; Identifying fire hazards; Identifying populations at risk; Evaluating fire risks and existing controls; Developing action plans to control and reduce risk; Recording and reviewing the assessment
