NEBOSH Construction Certificate in Safety and Health

NEBOSH Logo

The NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety and Health has been designed to provide individuals making day-to-day decisions in construction work with the knowledge they need to ensure that the health and safety implications of their decisions are properly taken into account.

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate covers all of the main principles relating to health and safety in construction, including how to identify and control common construction hazards. It is suitable for:

  • Managers, supervisors and CDM co-ordinators within the construction industry.
  • Those who manage contractors.
  • Those who work in industries where temporary workplaces are a feature, e.g. utilities, broadcasting, etc.

If you intend to work outside the UK, the NEBOSH International Construction Certificate might be more suitable.

You can study the NEBOSH Construction Certificate by attending a classroom course at one of our high-quality training venues, or by distance/e-learning, with unlimited help and support from our expert NEBOSH trainers - a great option for those who need to fit studying around other commitments.

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is a widely respected qualification, which meets the requirements for Technician Membership of IOSH and Associate Membership of IIRSM.

Exemptions

NGC1 is the core unit for all of the NEBOSH National Health and Safety Certificates, so to gain a NEBOSH Certificate you need to study NGC1 along with the relevant specialist unit and practical assessment.

If you have been awarded a NEBOSH Certificate in the last 5 years and wish to take another, you will be exempt from NGC1 and can simply 'top up' with the specialist unit and practical assessment to achieve the new award.

NGC

Assessment

Units NGC1 and NCC1 of the NEBOSH Construction Certificate are each assessed by one two-hour written examination. Unit NCC2 is assessed by a two-hour practical assessment carried out in your workplace (or on a construction site).

Exams take place in March, June, September and December. We have exam centres in over 80 countries worldwide and we make all the arrangements for you.

All of our courses contain plenty of exam practice to ensure you are fully prepared for the exam. Many of our trainers are also NEBOSH examiners, so they're well placed to provide advice and guidance throughout your course.
