CITB ConstructionSkills - Site Management Safety Scheme Refresher Course

The CITB ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus - Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher Course is designed for those who have previously passed the full five-day SMSTS course (or subsequent two-day refresher course) and can provide proof of attendance.

Course materials comprise the 'Construction Site Safety' textbook, which is updated annually and provides practical health and safety guidance for building, construction and civil engineering sites.

The CITB ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus - Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher Course is currently only available as an in-company classroom course delivered by one of RRC's expert trainers.

Course Content

The CITB ConstructionSkills Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) update course covers the following:

Health and safety knowledge update.
Overview of legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.
Wide range of topics; both building on those contained within the five-day course programme and introducing new subjects.

Entry Requirement

You are only able to attend this refresher course prior to the expiry of your existing SMSTS certificate.

Assessment

The ConstructionSkills Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course is assessed by a short multiple-choice exam; three exercises and a case study; and a tutor review. The tutor review may include short-answer tests, oral questions and answers, simulated practical exercises, role play and problem-solving activities.

Assessment is undertaken during the course. Successful candidates are awarded a CITB certificate. Delegates are required to attend all sessions in order to be eligible for the certificate.
