WHSO-GH was set up in 2008 with the objective of helping businesses and industries increase their productivity and securing a safe environment for workers. Reducing injury and hazards in the workplace is WHSO’s main aim. Advocacy, training and the supply of quality health and safety equipment are three schemes involved in WHOS’s holistic approach to meeting safety needs.
Employers in Ghana are required by the Ghana Labour Act 2003, Act 651 to ensure their employees are not exposed to work conditions that would lead to work related injuries or illnesses. Ghana has got different organisations which monitor industries for workplace and employee safety. However, there is no national body or policy that governs Occupational Safety & Health management. With UK based courses becoming more and more recognised in Ghana, David Dake, WHSO-GH Managing Director, decided to partner with RRC to support spreading NEBOSH and IOSH standards and make these qualifications more accessible to the local market.
Examinations will be organised at WHOS’s premises in Accra. For information on distance and e-Learning courses and fees, please click here.
