Dr D Wenham - BSc, MSc, PhD, DipSH, DipLaw, AdvDipEd, MRSC, CChem, CFIOSH

David is a former HSE inspector and currently a lecturer and director of the Occupational Health & Safety Management Postgraduate Programme at Loughborough University. He has a particular interest in health and safety law and is a visiting lecturer at several universities.

Dr Jim Phelpstead - BSc, PhD, CMIOSH

Jim originally trained as a crop plant geneticist before changing careers to work in the food industry. He has worked as health and safety manager with blue chip food manufacturing companies at various locations in the UK.

Dr Richard Griffiths - PhD, MSc, MEd, Cert Ed, GRSC, CMIOSH, MIIRSM, FRSH, FRIPH

Richard has wide experience in industry and education as a training provider and examiner. His interests cover waste disposal management, environmental audit and legal and cost implications of pollution.

Dr Roger Bentley - BSC, PhD, CChem, FRSC, DipSM, CFIOSH

Roger is particularly involved in work on chemical major accident hazard sites, but also undertakes work as an expert witness in litigation on respiratory diseases, cancer and industrial accidents. Roger is a Council Member of IOSH. He is an examiner for NEBOSH Certificate.

Dr Terry Robson - Bsc, PhD, FIOSH, MRSC, CChem

Terry is an Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner in Higher Education. He has a wide range of experience teaching NEBOSH courses and is a NEBOSH examiner.

Dr Karen Sargood - CMIOSH, CChem., MRSC, Ph.D., B.Sc. (Hons)

Karen is responsible for devising and implementing all aspects of health and safety requirements in a wide range of industry sectors at management level and above, and has over 10 years' experience. Karen studied for, and qualified in, the NEBOSH Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma Part 1 and NEBOSH Diploma Part 2.

Dr Norman Gutteridge - PhD, MIOSH, RSP

Norman has worked as a research and development chemist in the pharmaceutical industry before moving into the field of occupational health and safety. Prior to retirement he was a development and commissioning editor for a number of Croner Publishing H&S titles.

Dr Martin Speirs - CMIOSH AIEMA CChem MRSC Dip2.OSH SpDipEM

Martin worked in high risk industries since 1978, specifically with propellants and explosives. He has been involved with product development, plant management and production support, including two overseas start-ups. His current role is as critical materials manager he is also the company environmental adviser, and provides support on COMAH.

Mr John Bennett - CMIOSH Sp.DipEnv

John has been a health and safety practitioner for over 25 years. Starting with British Nuclear Fuels, where he had several roles including radiological/toxicological protection, emergency planning/response and Business Unit Safety Advisor, he then spent three years in Local Government as Corporate Health and Safety Advisor to a Unitary Authority, before joining BAE Systems as Specialist Health and Safety Advisor to the Air Systems Policy, Planning and Strategy Group. John joined RRC as Consultant/Trainer in 2005 and has been heavily involved in the development of many RRC courses.

Mr Tony Aggiss - BSc, MSc, MIOSH, Cert Ed

Tony was a Clinical Biochemist in the Health Service for over 25 years. He entered the world of health and safety as a COSHH specialist and became adviser to the Mid-Essex Hospitals NHS Trust Board. He acted as safety consultant for a number of healthcare organisations delivering both training and audit consultancy. He then spent a number of years as lecturer and SHE project manger at Plymouth College of Further Education before joining RRC Training. His particular interest is the area of chemical and biological agents and occupational health matters. He is also a NEBOSH examiner.

Mr Andrew Ashford - BSc(Hons), GDL, Cert Ed., CMIOSH

Following a career in the armed forces, Andrew has held posts at senior level in health and safety management. Having taught at Diploma level for several years, Andrew specialises in all aspects of Risk Management and English Law and is training to become a barrister.

Mr David West - MIOSH

David provides training, risk assessment and advisory services relating to the development and implementation of health and safety management systems. Since 1990, he has also been lecturing on NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma programmes.

Miss Jacqui Sculley - BSc(Hons), CMIOSH, MCIEH, Dip2.OSH, Cert Ed

Jacqui trained and worked as an Environmental Health Officer in Local Authority before working as a Senior Lecturer teaching on a wide range of courses including occupational safety and health. She has experience in both the public and private sectors and worked as a Global Health and Safety Manager in the blue chip industry.

Mr Malcolm Rimmer - Post-Grad Dip Health & Safety, BA(Hons),Dip Acoustics, AMIOA

Malcolm started his career as a sewer inspector with a local authority. Subsequently he served as one of HM Inspectors of Health and Safety for 8 years, inspecting factories and construction sites. He now works as a Health and Safety consultant and trainer. Malcolm is also a registered noise consultant and has Certificates in Stress Counselling and Industrial Chemistry, as well as being a trained Psychologist.

Mrs Mandy Disney - MIOSH, RSP

Mandy has worked as a safety officer in local government, subsequently heading up the Health and Safety section for Social Services in Nottinghamshire.

Mr Mike Ellerby - LLB, BSc, CMIOSH, MIIRSM, CChem, MRSC, CSci

Mike worked for twelve years in various technical, production environmental and safety roles within a multinational company.

Mr Peter Harvey - Dip2.OSH CMIOSH

Peter initially trained as a chef in the Royal Air Force. He spent 23 years in the RAF serving at stations both in the UK an overseas and undertook many different roles including Catering Facilities Manager, Health and Safety Officer, Food Safety Trainer and Training Co-ordinator. Since leaving the RAF, Pete has worked for a Local Authority, initially as a Safety Advisor, then as Health, Safety and Quality Manager with responsibility for Emergency Planning. He is currently employed as a consultant with a high street bank providing health and safety advice to businesses.

Mrs Wendy Claxton - CMIOSH, BSc (Hons) Biological Science, DIP2.OSH

Following a career working in a variety of environments including environmental health, train operating and education Wendy is now freelance.

Mr Roger Passey - MIOSH, RSP, MIIRSM

Roger is from an engineering background and has been a Health and Safety Advisor in building products manufacture and consumer products for fifteen years.

Mr Paul Smale - CMIOSH Dip2.OSH

Paul has an engineering background having completed a mechanical apprenticeship before completing 13 years in the offshore oil industry. He became involved full time in health and safety in 1990, and has gained a teaching qualification since leaving the oil industry. Paul has held full time posts as Health, Safety and Environmental Officer/Manager in both food and manufacturing industries.

Mr Sandy Wilson - MSc, CMIOSH, RSP

Sandy originally trained as an engineer before moving into the education sector. Sandy spent 17 years as a Director of an engineering department within a County College and has acted in the capacity of Safety Adviser for 27 years. For seven years, he was an examiner for the NEBOSH Diploma (Safety Technology module).

Mr Bill Chappell - BA(Hons), IEng, MIOSH, RSP

Bill is a professional engineer with 30 years experience in the power industry. Held positions as shift operations engineer, electrical maintenance engineer, projects engineer and finally safety and training manager. After leaving National Power, William worked for a steel company as safety consultant before being employed in his current role as the safety specialist with Britannia Refined Metals Ltd.

Mr Ken Bradley - LLB(Hons) DMA PGCE MIOSH RSP Solicitor

Ken has gained qualifications and experience in local government administration, law, health and safety, teaching and management over 40 years. Ken has worked in both private and public sectors and was for 24 years a lecturer in a Further and Higher Education College where he taught on a wide range of courses including those on Occupational Safety and Health. He specialises in OSH law, has been a NEBOSH Diploma examiner, has written several articles and books and is currently planning a book on the Legal & Organisational Factors module.

Mr Shaun Fox - MIOSH, RGN, EN(M), Dip Occ S+H(NEBOSH), Dip OHN, Dip(SCI)

Shaun manages a number of occupational health advisers in the South and Midlands. His particular field of interest is the physical, psychological and social impact of the workplace and agents on employees.

Ms Elaine Waddoups - BSc (Hons) PGCE MA(Ed) RSP CMIOSH

Elaine worked as a qualified lecturer in Further Education until training as a Health and Safety Adviser with RRC.

Mrs Laura Harris - BSc, PgDip, MIIRSM, MIOSH

Laura has worked in health and safety enforcement before moving to the engineering sector as a Health and Safety Advisor.

Mr David Robertson - MinstLM, CMIOSH, MIIRSM

David has experience of training, consultancy and safety management across a range of industries including construction, industrial, commercial, office, government and defence sectors. He started his safety career in the Royal Navy and is now a full time HSE consultant and trainer.

Mr Kevin Boyle - BSc (Hons) PGCE, DLUT CMIOSH AIEMA

Kevin worked in both private and public sectors for 35 years. Kevin is a Graduate Chemist with Diplomas in Health and Safety Management and Education. He is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety Management, an Associate Member of the Institution of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Registered Environmental Auditor.

John Leigh - BSc(Hons), CEng, CMIOSH, MIMM, MIIRSM

John has been involved in safety for 25 years. He started his career in the mining industry where he first got involved in safety, holding several safety-related roles before becoming a Safety Engineer for British Coal. He has been working in both consultancy and training for the last 15 years, where he has gained extensive experience advising and delivering training to both public and private sector organisations.

Mr Michael Joy - Dip2.OSH GradSp

Michael has worked in manufacturing for the past 12 years and is currently a member of the IOSH Executive Committee North Wales. Having completed the NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma Part One and Two he is looking forward to beginning a BSc (Hons) Degree in September 2006.

CQI (IQA) TUTORS

Mr Frank Southall - BTech (Mech Eng) Dip EM

Frank worked in the manufacturing sector for 25 years in a variety of senior operations management posts. Frank has worked in full time education since 1996.

Mr Peter McGuire - MSc MIQA PGAD

Peter has worked in quality for the past 24 years, both in industry and the education sector. In addition, Peter has provided consultancy and advice to many industries in the field of quality.
